Acmecast
The Radiation!!!

We're very pleased to bring you the Acme Comics Womanthology Summit with Ming Doyle, Chrissie Zullo and Janet Lee in (almost) its entirety! This was one of the most thought-provoking and progressive discussions we've heard in the world of comics, and we need to thank Jennifer Fernandez from the News & Record and Dr. Johnson at Bennett College for helping us make the whole thing possible! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Then Jermaine, Stephen and Frank are joined by new sound engineer Griffin to do a tanget-ridden, winding edition of Comics at the Table!

Show Notes:

  • Comics Beat, the comics blog of Heidi MacDonald, as mentioned by Ming Doyle during the panel.
  • "Womanthology Artists Participate in Acme Comics Panel" at Yes Weekly.com.
  • Comics at the Table - Avenging Spider-man #4, Secret Avengers #23, Flash #6, Prophet #22, All Star Western #6, the Ray #3, Invincible Ultimate Collection #7, and Wally West EC Artist's Edition.

Jermaine, Stephen, Frank and Adam chat with Glory and Hell Yeah writer Joe Keatinge on the day of Gloriana's debut about his time behind the scenes at Image Comics, learning under the tutelage of Eric Stephenson, and the concept that's been brewing in his head since he was 10 years old!

Then the guys dust off their non-existent legal degrees to discuss the lawsuits surrounding Ghost Rider and the Walking Dead!

Finally, they have watched Comic Book Men. And, yes, they let you know what they thought.

Surprisingly, this week's episode title is not a reference to a Japanese Transformer! Jermaine and Stephen check in from the road on their way to the ComicsPro Annual Meeting in Dallas to give a report from the post-apocalyptic wasteland of rural Arkansas and host a very special session of Comics at the Dashboard!

The store news introduction has a SHOCKER!

Then Jermaine, Stephen, Frank and Adam attack the issues surrounding the Before Watchmen controversy from every angle they can manage after devouring the best pizza in Greensboro. But in all seriousness, they try to be understanding to the creative, economic, and emotionally vested interests of all parties involved!

Finally, they wrap up Comics at the Table as a house divided over Action Comics #6 and a house united over the John Romita Sr. Artist Edition, among many other reviews!
